French Vintage Baby Shower
For my granddaughter's shower I chose a French Vintage theme. Beautiful purple tulips placed in a chicken wired French vase added French country charm.
For the banner I cut triangles from scrapbook and wrapping paper and glued heart shaped doilies to the back. Sticker letters made it easy to add the words. My granddaughters cut out hearts from the scrapbook paper and strung them around the room. I loved the shape of their hearts.
On a white framed blackboard I drew flowers and a quote in chalk for an easy focal point.
The wired vase is from Walmart, the frame from Pier One for $18 and the sticker letters are
from Michaels from their 50% off sale.
A small mason jar filled with flowers and baby's breath fit perfectly into my white bird cage. Buy the roses a few days ahead of time so they open up fully.
I put a photo of the baby in a white French style frame and framed a monogram of her name with the stickers that I used on the banner. You can make the frame yourself by gluing a second hand store frame on a candleholder and painting it white with chalk paint.
We used her great grandmother's tea set and placed all the food on borrowed china pieces from the family and covered the table with a vintage tablecloth from her late great grandmother.
The cake was a yummy lavender flavour with lemon filling. The savoury filled crescents, cream puffs and the macarons continued the distinctively French flavour. Cones made of the same scrapbook paper as the pennants were filled with coloured popcorn and pink smarties and set in a wire basket.
We had a lovely time of celebration with the extended family to welcome this latest bundle of joy into our family.
